I'm sorry folks but I just have to throw one more in there. Was Not Was at the Roseland Ballroom about 14 years ago. Those guys had the whole place dancing. I caught their recent tour last month at BB Kings. They haven't lost a beat.

Trilok mid 90's... Feeling "Is that allowed?"
Two 10" snares sounding better than most anyone elses at that time. Awesome artist.
JR Robinson in 1998 I think. He was actually better than expected. Uncanny.
Vinnie in 2000. As good a expected!
-Which is unreal!
Trilok makes another great I have yet to see.
A drummer friend of mine who also happens to be burnin' played me some McLaughlin w Trilok, Live at Wembley, I believe?
Holey sheist. It was BURNIN'. & the guy uses NO kick drum...kneels on the one knee [that we would use for the BD], w the other leg bent up on the foot & on the HH. The "BD" notes that you're hearing are actually one of his hands...the one that's not "riding," but providing the sn / backbeat [& ghostings]...WTFreak...
Sheesh. GOOD Lawd.

Probably the "Live at Royal festival Hall" cd!
Awesome show!
That trio was something else!
Go get it right away- along with the "que alegria" cd. Both feature Trilok at his very best.
Just got back from my first live experience of Kirk Covington (with Scot Henderson blues band). Did not know what to expect............it was very impressive!
Yep, that's it, Jeppe. [Not Wembley] Hot disc for sure.
Tribal Tech blues =

Anyone have any stories of seeing a drummer for the first time after waiting for literally years? Did he or she meet your expectations?
The reason I ask is that last night I finally saw a drummer I thought I'd never see, perhaps the most underrated drummer I can think of, Aaron Commess. The Spin Doctors have reformed with the origional line up, and I was SO pleased they came to the UK because Commess is a MAJOR influence on the way I play drums, along with Vinnie, Carter Beauford and Chad Smith. And the gig was amazing! The man has the deepest pocket, but he has chops as well - he's a jazzer origionally and it showed in his 10 minute solo.
Commess was the last drummer on the wish list of people I REALLY wanted to see since I started playing almost ten years ago. And thankfully he completely blew me away - I haven't come away from a gig so impressed by the drummer for years and years. Fantastic.
And to put the icing on the cake, I got to choose the encore! Me and the people I was there with (3 other drummers) were shouting 'Refrigerator Car' basically for the whole gig, and even though they hadn't reherased it they played it for us. The singer was reluctant, but it starts with a drum solo and Commess just started playing it. Its a sick 7/8 rock groove (with Vinnie style off-beat/on-beat ride cymbal but written before 7-days) and Commess killed it, playing double-time triplets in 2 over the top!
